The 2007 Volta a Portugal (Tour of Portugal) runs from 4 to 15 August over 10 stages.
The 5th stage is a 167.7km run from Felgfuires to Fafe and, apart from 1 climb of note (Alto Covide) it falls so far from the finish that it should prove to be another stage that ends in a group sprint.
It's turning into the Candido Barbosa show as, for the third straight day he took the honours in a bunch sprint. Barbosa edged out Antonio Bucciero (Ceramica Panaria-Navigare) with Bruno Neves (LA MSS) back in 3rd place. Everyone in the overall GC top ten were in attendance in the lead bunch so, apart from line bonuses to Barbosa, the GC remains pretty well unchanged.
Barbosa has also extended his Points Classification to a very handy 41 points from Paride Grillo (Ceramica Panaria-Navigare) to be leading by 16points. The top of the Mountain Classification remains unchanged with Andre Cardoso (LA MSS) still 3 points ahead Celestino Pinho.
Tiago Machado (Riberalves-Boavista) maintains his Young Rider Classification lead over John-Lee Augustyn (Barloworld).
